NEET Effect – Presidential Order A.P exempted from offering seats to students of other states…
Andhra Pradesh does not share 15 per cent of seats in MBBS for from other states students. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MBBS will not impact the seat allotment in A.P medical colleges. As per AP concern, NEET 2012 will nothing more than a qualifying test.
Other states have to offer 15 per cent seats in MBBS courses and 50% seats in PG medical courses to students. outside state students not eligible for admissions in AP medical colleges, 100 per cent of the seats in local colleges will go to AP students. The difference is students will write NEET 2012 in place of the Eamcet exam. This rule is now only in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
As per Presidential Order on local, non-local quotas, these states due to unique political conditions exempted from offering seats to students of other states under the central pool. Students from Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are barred from taking admissions in the central pool. In A.P 4,800 MBBS seats available in the state. A.P state has also trying to take exemption from NEET Exam.
NEET effect – AIIMS, Jipmer etc. institutions will continue to have their own entrance exams even after Neet. Single exam to MBBS thought of central government to reduce the number of entrance tests to students is remain as a dream. But now AP Medical admissions through NEET 2020 only.
