AP government decides to conduct Teacher Eligibility 2018 Test (TET), a single recruitment test, will be conducted for the recruitment of teachers from next year in place of DSC 2020. At present, candidates have to appear for the DSC teacher recruitment exam and the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) separately to secure teaching jobs in government schools. More than 3 lakhs candidates already get through the TET; it can filter merit from the vast competition.
At the time of releasing the marks of DSC 2018, the minister for secondary education, said the new exam pattern will save lakhs of candidates from appearing for multiple tests (TET and DSC) for the same teacher posts. But AP government conducts APTET 3 consecutive times and more than 3 lakhs candidate already got TET certificates to next seven years. So many other states also following the same pattern to teacher recruitment.
AP DSC – TET score has 20 per cent weightage in final DSC marks. In new TET exam syllabus, the candidate must prepare both TET, DSC exams. Already TET passed and certified candidates also again face the same syllabus again and again in all DSC TET exams in future.
